Why it is worth doing
Most couples have never been photographed properly together, and the first twenty minutes of a wedding day is a poor time to find that out. An engagement session gets the awkwardness out of the way months early, with nobody watching and no schedule.
By the wedding you already know what this feels like, and so do we. It shows in the photographs.
Where we shoot
The street you live on is usually better than anywhere we would drive to, because you are relaxed on it. Failing that: City Park under the old trees, the waterfront west of the crowds, or anywhere in Ontario that actually means something to the two of you.
Late afternoon, roughly an hour before sunset. It is not a preference, it is just when the light is worth using.
What it costs
Included with the Full Ceremony ($1,895) and Full Day ($2,695) wedding packages. Booked on its own it runs as a portrait session from $165.
You get the gallery in ten to fourteen days, in time to use the photographs for save-the-dates if that is the plan.
Common questions
- How long does it take?
- About an hour. Longer rarely improves it.
- Can we bring the dog?
- Yes, and you should. Bring someone who can hold the lead when they are not in frame.
- Do we have to be getting married?
- No. Plenty of these are just couples who wanted decent photographs of themselves.
