We come to you
Almost every newborn session happens at home, because that is where the light is honest and where nobody has to get a three-week-old into the car. You do not need to tidy. We will find the brightest room, usually a bedroom with a big window, and work there.
Maternity and family sessions can go either way. At home if you want the version of your life you actually live in, on location if you want the trees and the water. Both are the same price.
What actually happens
The first ten minutes are noisy and nothing works. That is normal and it is built into the time. Children stop performing once they are bored of you, and that is the point at which the photographs start being worth keeping.
No props, no baskets, no headbands unless you want them. In ten years nobody looks back and wishes there had been more styling.
What you get
An online gallery in ten to twenty-one days, with a print release so you can order prints wherever you like. Between twenty and seventy edited photographs depending on the package, all graded by hand rather than run through a preset.

Before you book
- How old should a newborn be?
- Between five and fifteen days is easiest, because they sleep through most of it. Older is still fine, it just becomes a different and slightly livelier set of photographs.
- What should we wear?
- One colour across the family in two or three shades, and textures rather than patterns. Anything new, wear it for an hour first so it stops looking new.
- Do you travel outside Kingston?
- Yes, anywhere in Ontario. Travel inside an hour of Kingston is included; beyond that we agree it in writing before you book.
